The Gamma Xi Chapter at UC Santa Barbara
The best decision of my college experience was becoming a member of Alpha Delta Pi. I never pictured myself in a sorority in high school and was hesitant to go through recruitment, however, I cannot imagine what UCSB would have been like without my ADPi experiences. Through ADPi, I have been able to find lifelong friends and make lasting memories: alpha class sleepovers, Freebirds runs, movie nights at the house or the drive-in, spontaneous adventures like sunsets, hiking, and trampolining with sisters, and so much more. Everyone’s commitment to our motto, We Live for Each Other, and the genuine sisterhood in this chapter has provided me with a real home away from home. I have had the opportunity to hold three different leadership positions, build my resume, and explore several professional and networking opportunities because of ADPi.
Our chapter has also been known to go above and beyond in philanthropy and community service. This year we were awarded Excellence in Philanthropic Endeavors out of all Greek chapters on campus for our commitment to our national philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, as well as our dedication to several other causes that are close to many sisters’ hearts. No matter what cause you may be personally connected to, our sisters are always there to passionately support you in giving back. We aim to better the community to the best of our ability, which is how we are able to repeatedly earn the most service hours out of any Panhellenic sorority on campus. I am proud to lead a chapter full of passionate and driven women that make such a positive impact in so many ways.
Alpha Delta Pi women hold themselves to a higher standard as we strive to be well rounded in not only sisterhood and philanthropy, but in scholarship as well. The countless study groups, de-stressing sisterhoods, and scholarship banquets help foster an encouraging environment to help every sister succeed in her academics. ADPi consistently ranks with a high sorority GPA, surpassing the all-women's GPA.
I am honored, humbled, and so proud to be serving as Alpha Delta Pi’s President for this upcoming year and feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to lead a group of such incredible women. My sisters never cease to impress me with their many accomplishments and successes professionally, academically, and personally; and because of our chapter’s communal success, we were awarded UCSB’s Chapter of the Year for 2018. Please enjoy our website to explore our unique sisterhood and to learn how you can fully take advantage of your experience as a UCSB Panhellenic woman.
Love & Loyalty,
In 1851, Alpha Delta Pi became the world’s first secret society for collegiate women, setting the foundation for the entire sorority system as we know it today. Since its establishment at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, our sorority has expanded to more than 155 collegiate chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada, and has proudly initiated over 260,000 members.
For 166 years, our sisters have been guided by ADPi’s founding principles of sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, and service to others, upholding the legacy of being the “First. Finest. Forever.”
Our open motto, “We Live For Each Other,” exemplifies the uniquely strong sisterhood of Alpha Delta Pi. Whether it is here at UCSB, at another chapter, or even abroad, sisters of ADPi are everywhere and always willing to support one another. Alpha Delta Pi sisterhood starts on bid day and lasts a lifetime through our invaluable alumnae network and lifelong friendships.
